Max-Morlock Stadium renovation: Proprojekt awarded contract

The city of Nuremberg has awarded PROPROJEKT the project management services for the next phases of the complete renovation of the Max-Morlock-Stadion as part of an EU-wide tendering process.

The tendering process was conducted in two stages as an EU-wide negotiated procedure. A total of six applications were received, of which five applicants were admitted to the bidding phase. Following negotiations and an evaluation of quality and price, Proprojekt was awarded the contract with the most economically advantageous offer.

Project management is responsible for the overall organisation, coordination, and control of the construction project, particularly regarding costs, schedules, quality, and contracts. It ensures that all stakeholders collaborate effectively, that the project remains within the agreed-upon parameters, and that the project objectives are met.
Proprojekt will support the commissioned planning firm, asp Architekten GmbH, which is responsible for the preliminary design. Proprojekt has been involved since the feasibility study and has extensive experience with large-scale projects. The contract will be awarded in stages. The search for a general contractor will only begin after a further city council resolution.
Stadium Mayor Christian Vogel said: “We received very strong applications overall, which underlines the importance of this project. Proprojekt prevailed in a transparent competition through its competence, structure, and experience. The project management team’s task is to keep an eye on the overall project – coordinating deadlines, costs, and processes, identifying risks early, and ensuring that all parties involved work well together.”

Immanuel Geis, project manager and partner of the Proprojekt added: “We are very pleased to be able to support the city of Nuremberg and the club in the further development of the Max-Morlock-Stadium into an innovative, sustainable and economical and, in particular, emotional sports venue.”
