Ease Live powers 76.5 million+ interactive fan sessions throughout FIFA World Cup™

8th September 2026

Ease Live, the interactive streaming specialist, today announced that its platform powered interactive experiences for three major European media operators, including France’s M6+ and Austria’s ServusTV On, during this summer’s FIFA World Cup™ – enabling millions of fans to access live statistics, take part in polls and explore contextual content via OTT services without leaving the live stream.

Across the three streaming deployments, Ease Live supported more than 76.5 million fan sessions with 53% of viewers engaging with the interactive layer and 9 million casting votes for Player of the Match. The results highlight how broadcasters can use interactive features to extend fan engagement, gather first-party audience insight and create new commercial opportunities around live sport.

“This summer has shown how far the live sports experience has evolved,” said Kjetil Horneland, CEO, Ease Live. “Our broadcaster customers were able to give fans the ability to actively engage with the tournament in real time, not just passively view the matches. With more than half of viewers choosing to use interactive features, it’s clear that audiences want a more dynamic relationship with live sport. For broadcasters and rights holders, this creates powerful new opportunities to deepen engagement, build first-party data strategies and unlock new advertising inventory.”

One of the media companies using Ease Live, French platform M6+, achieved record audiences for live streamed sport during the tournament, underlining the scale of consumer demand for premium football on streaming platforms. M6+ drew 11 million active users over the course of the tournament, who watched more than 100 million hours of content. During the World Cup the platform added 4.2 million new accounts and became the number one free app across download platforms, a significant acceleration in M6’s streaming strategy. Ease Live carried out the deployment of graphical overlays to M6+ with Bedrock, the joint-venture media-technology company co-owned by Groupe M6 and RTL Group.

Discussing the World Cup project, Ricardo Castelhano, CTO of Bedrock, said: “By working with Ease Live, we were able to bring interactive features into M6+ at scale, giving viewers a richer and more engaging way to follow the tournament without disrupting the core viewing experience. We see this as an opportunity for streaming platforms to deepen engagement with users, learn more about their audiences and develop new commercial propositions.”

ServusTV was another customer to use Ease Live’s interactive platform, building on its previous Ease Live powered interactive sports deployments, including the UEFA Champions League, to bring fans closer to the action during the 2026 Fifa World Cup.

For its football tournament customers, Ease Live delivered synchronised interactive overlays on top of existing OTT and streaming services, providing live match statistics, player and team information, fan voting, and sponsor-ready game moments. The Ease Live platform allows broadcasters to offer both lean-back and lean-forward fan experiences, gather valuable engagement data and create new contextual ad inventory.

Ease Live’s cloud-based platform enables broadcasters and sports rights holders to create and publish interactive experiences quickly across web, mobile and connected TV environments. Because the overlays sit over existing video streams, customers can add interactive features without rebuilding their core video workflow, while editorial teams can control live content, automate graphics from sports data feeds and report on audience engagement in real time.

“Sports streaming is becoming more competitive, and the cost of premium rights continues to rise,” added Horneland. “The value of interactivity is that it benefits everyone in the ecosystem. The World Cup showed that there’s a huge demand for interactivity as part of the big match experience. Throughout the tournament when given a chance to vote over 50% of viewers clicked on their choice of man of the match or took part in ‘Rate the Match’ votes. Our interactive overlays enable fans to get closer to the action, broadcasters to increase engagement, and advertisers can gain access to the high-attention moments that are at the heart of live events like the World Cup.”
